Greetings Humans.
Not sure where to ask for help on this issue and I’ve tried googling answers but they seem to only supply help for Ubuntu and they are quite old articles as well, dating back to over 5 years ago.
Previously I had a working KDE wallet, but I had at least 3 full system lock ups where each time I had Brave browser open and just watching a video on Youtube and the sound keeps playing the the desktop stops responding. Can’t even CTRL-ALT-DEL my way out of it. I have to restart the computer and now this time KDE wallet fails to load and now I’m signed out of everything and Brave takes a while to even start trying to access it. It can’t find my wallet so I tried to make a new one and it said SQL Used Incorrectly. Tried updating the keys with Kleopatra, failed to connect. Tried to make a new key pair, SQL Used Incorrectly.
SO here is what I do understand. KDE Wallet is not able to connect to some sort of server where the keys are stored and when this connection is lost, the entire system freezes up forcing a hard reset and then locks me out of my passwords/autofill data. Now I do have a backup of my passwords for brave still on my encrypted storage drive which I can still access but it’s not PGP encrypted, it’s hardware based.
So I deleted my old PGP wallet and tried to make a new one and keep getting SQL Used incorrectly.
So for the time being I’ve disabled KDE Wallet in the control pannel and rebooted. Everything works now but I’m concerned about the security of importing my passwords/autofill data as there is no longer encryption to protect it.
