I gotta say, that was one ofthe fastest download and install I have ever done in my 15 years of distrohopping. Not for the real testing.
I’ll admit, the first time I installed, it went so quick I thought it had failed.
So far so good. There are a few incompatabilities, which I expected. Just need to find workarounds. Hyprland loads, but then I can’t do anything in it. There is no xclip so I can’t use pass -c to copy my passwords to the clipboard. I’m expecting other similar issues. Pass is supposed to use wl-clipboard as an alternative, but it isn’t. Will update with my workarounds.
Enable the extra repo using OM Welcome. Then you’ll be able to install xclip.
It worked! Pass is actually supposed to work with wl-clipboard and wl-copy, which came preinstalled in OM, but it didn’t work. That would have been preferable. I’ll need to do a deeper dive.
If you are on Wayland and Plasma, the clipboard (klipper) has a problem. The history only holds one entry. The only workaround we have right now is to disable the clipboard in the system tray.
Down by the clock, there is a arrow (angle)
Right click it
Click Configure System Tray
Select Entries
Scroll down to Clipboard and change it to Disabled
The klipper will work, but it won’t have the history. I put in a bug report at KDE but they say only OM is affected.
