Hi Everyone. I wanted to introduce myself. Alas, I too, am here because of that evil Lunduke. LOL I left Windows many years ago and spent most of my time using Debian, or rather a flavor of, so I was pretty upset to see they didn’t want me to use their flavor of Linux any longer. I also can say, I use Arch btw. I learned how to install Arch from scratch.
I was about to reinstall it again on my laptop when the news came out that they too, have decided to not have my business. I do donate bty. So, I downloaded OM after Lunduke’s video about Debian and was going to play with it in a virtual machine. I didn’t get to it and then I saw the video today…
I formatted and installed OM! I must say I am impressed so far! It was quick and easy to install. Lightning fast to boot. It found a Dell updated bios for this laptop, which no other system did! I will now go RTFM and learn the rpm commands so I can use the terminal properly and learn about the plasma system as I had always used Gnome. Thank you for making the stand against woke. I don’t care at all about someones politics, but if you put it in my face, well, then, I must make a decision on how to move forward.
Welcome! We are happy to see you.
While you are RTFM, don’t forget to use our OM-Welcome app. It is the safe way to add repos and do your first updates. Most distros have a welcome screen, but ours is really an app.
Welcome to your new home! I am also here because of the eeeeeevil, vile, terrible, awful Lunduke. LOL
Like @WilsonPhillips said, the Welcome app, unlike most distros, is actually useful and works extremely well.
Welcome! Glad you decided join us.
Welcome RV3scape
What’s funny is the first thing I did was quickly look it ove and then removed the app from the boot up and the desktop. I have since, put it back on the desktop because after reading this, I looked again and thought yes, it is a good thing! Thanks!
No need for the welcome app to launch every time, but good to keep it at hand just in case.
