I have a laptop, two video cards, one is the Radeon R5 second is the Radeon 8500HD, the problem appears when trying to install.
because during the installation appears Black Screen, throws a lot of errors associated with xorg
Hi Karol,
There’s a known problem with Radeon X600 but your if you can come onto IRC at sometime over the next couple of days we will see if we can get one of the cards going or at the very least we can find out what is wrong.
Best,
Colin
Fools Radeon HD 8500 and R5 have the same problem ?
Hi Karol
Some work some don’t there is a swiitch that can be used to get you going using the VESA driver, I’m a short on time at the moment but I’ll post it later. If it works you will be able to install and then use the fglrx proprietry drivers.
best,
Colin
So you need a new iso? because through it I can not install
The problem has now been fixed. I will build a new iso locally and send you a link when it is ready and you can test and tell me whether it works ok for you.
Best,
Colin
I appreciate the effort in trying to find a solution to the AMD hardware problem. I am not certain it will work. I’m not referring to the VESA initial load process to get a successful install but the fglrx drivers post install. I have been toying with the latest betas of Kubuntu and having no luck running proprietary drivers. AMD’s site indicates that the latest fglrx / Catalyst package only supports up to Xorg 1.16. I am running the driver on Kubuntu 15.04 which is using Xorg 1.17 but I have not found a distribution that’s running Xorg 1.18 that the driver works on. I downloaded the OpenMandriva LX3 beta 1 and dd’d it to a usb stick and also burned it to a DVD with K3B. Each time I tried to boot to the live system it loads GRUB and then Plymouth and appears to progress through the boot process but eventually gores black and unresponsive. I am running a R9-280 card. Thanks again for all the great efforts. I am really curious to see how Wayland works. I may have to invest in a Nvidia card. What a shame AMD can’t take care of their customers.
Karol,
First attempt booted to graphical interface but no sddm. Trying again with the latest updates.

Colin

Let me know how you get on.

he beginning of the boost is ok but later it pops up at the picture
ps.photo I sent you email updates
OK Karol,
I’ve replied to your mail. Please if you can post pictures in the formum (if it’s possible). That way it helps others too.
Please try booting ther live system and installing from there. I have seen intermittant problems with running the installer directly which also need investigating.
Best,
Colin
Karol,
I have just tested the standard installs on my system and they seem to work so it now looks as if the problem is specific to one of your graphics cards. Unfortunately neither of my ATI cards matches yours so I can’t check directly.
Please check the md5sum of your downloaded iso and amake sure it matches this one.
da783339ef76f3cb703414158eb37fab OpenMandrivaLx.2015.0-devtest-PLASMA.x86_64.iso
If it doesn’t then try downloading again. (To check this the command is "md5sum ")
If the md5sum matches we will have to try and find out which graphics card is segfaulting and try and use the other one. I will write some instructions for this this evening post then here.
Best,
Colin
Another issue with this is that the graphivs setup could be one of two types depending on how old your laptop is likely to be. See this link and try and find out whay setup you actually have. RadeonFeature
It works, but there is a choice of language, and so begins to jump from you can not press the accept, because it goes back to the language selection
