Install Fedora Blivet on Lx 4.3?

I would like to install Fedora Blivet on Lx 4.3 Ryzen Rock.

Their info shows it included in OM Cooker and Rolling repositories, but not in Rock:
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/g/storage/blivet-stable/

Has anyone done this?

Any problem anticipated?

Suggestions and/or recommendations appreciiated.

Thanks.

No, not in OM repositories. This is a Fedora package. You won’t find this in OpenMandriva Cooker or Rolling repositories. To access those repository links you may need to use a browser other than Firefox. I used Falkon.

When you click on “OpenMandriva Cooker” or OpenMandriva Rolling" on that page what happens?

Copr repository for openSUSE, Mageia and OpenMandriva

Packages for openSUSE Tumbleweed, Mageia (8 and newer) and OpenMandriva (Cooker and Rolling) are available in our blivet-stable Copr repository. This repository contains the latest stable versions of both blivet-gui and blivet.

Users are welcome to make a package (or feature) request at OpenMandriva GitHub Issues. You will need a GitHub account.

Hi Ben:

This is what I get for the Rolling link:

(https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/g/storage/blivet-stable/repo/openmandriva-rolling/group_storage-blivet-stable-openmandriva-rolling.repo)

copr:copr.fedorainfracloud.org:group_storage:blivet-stable]
name=Copr repo for blivet-stable owned by @storage
baseurl=https://download.copr.fedorainfracloud.org/results/@storage/blivet-stable/openmandriva-rolling-$basearch/
type=rpm-md
skip_if_unavailable=True
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=https://download.copr.fedorainfracloud.org/results/@storage/blivet-stable/pubkey.gpg
repo_gpgcheck=0
enabled=1
enabled_metadata=1

That is file for you to use to create your own copr.fedorafracloud repository. Then you can try to install the package.

Ok, thanks.
Any referral to instructions re: how to proceed with that?

They are showing for Cooker and Rolling; I have Rock.
Will that present any problem?

They include the following notes:

Manual

  • Check blivet-gui.spec for all dependencies (lines Requires and BuildRequires). Main dependencies include blivet, libblockdev and libbytesize.
  • Clone the repo or download a release tarball.
  • Run sudo make install
  • Detailed instructions for manual installation for some distributions are available on the Wiki.

No. I could not get it to work.

Edit: You need to talk to the people that make the software. It is unlikely anyone with OM knows much about this.

Ok, I registered with Fedora for an online account; I will check there.
Thanks, Ben.
