I need a bit of help with slow ethernet [resolved]

Hello,

I am pretty new new to this distro.
I have used debian based ones since 2008.
I went for this distro as a lot others did this year and I can say that I am here to stay.
But thats not what I am here for.

My ethernet (cable not wifi) is really slow. Around 90Mbps on a 500Mbps line.
I have got at least 200-300 on other distros.
I dont now if there is a thread for the same problem and I would have fixed it myself.
But my health its not the best right now and just writing this is a burdon.

I have a Hp Probook 6475b.

Welcome! We are glad to see you and we hope you make this your home.

You didn’t state, so I will guess Plasma. I had this same problem and didn’t know why. In fact, I still don’t know, but it is fixed.

The link speed for the network adapter was limited to 100Mb,

I changed mine to Manual and 2.5Gb and Clicked Apply. Your adapter looks to be 1Gb, so set it accordingly.

After you apply, don’t close the window. Go back and change the settings to Automatic and click Apply.

Close the window and run a speed test. I hope that helps. It did for me.

During the install, if the Link Negotiation had been set to Automatic instead of Ignore, I don’t think this would have been an issue. In fact, I am going to file a bug report as I had forgotten to do it.

Thank you so much. Worked perfectly.
Almost 500 now.
You made my day.

@stoned_beaver The ticket has been completed and closed. I don’t know how quickly we will see it, but it is fixed. This was not just an OpenMandriva issue. Others saw it as well, but @bero was the hero who fixed it.
