How to install nm-applet (or similar)

Hello,

Requirements:
I have Searched the forum for my issue and found nothing related or helpful
I have checked the Resources category
I have reviewed the Wiki for relevant information
I have read the the Release Notes and Errata

OpenMandriva Lx version:
ROME 25.06

Desktop environment (KDE, LXQT…):
i3

Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant):
I am using i3 and try try to enable a network manager applet. In the past, I used i3 with ubuntu and my network manager applet was nm-applet.
The problem is that with OpenMandriva I cannot find a way to install it.
Tried both sudo dnf install network-manager and sudo dnf install network-manager-applet, but without luck. The package is not found.

Do I maybe miss some dnf repository?

I am also open to alternative network manager applets, if this is easier. I just need one that will appear in my i3 bar and do the good-old basic stuff. Not searching for something fancy here.

Thanks

In the OM repos, network manager is networkmanager and the applet is networkmanager-applet. Doing a simple dnf search network will pull up quite a few results, and you can look through to see how we have it named. Just a heads up, dnf search should become one of your best friends when finding packages that you’re familiar with from other distros :+1:

Thank you so much @schappellshow, it worked perfectly.

As you might have guessed, I am new to dnf so I did not know that.

Have a nice day, everyone!
