How to help with package maintenance

Hello,
what would be the best way to help you with package maintenance?

Should I create new ones for missing applications? Can I copy them from the fedora repository and modify them so they work on OM?

Or what would be the best way to assist?

It would be best to join our Matrix chat. We make the majority of the inquiries and decisions there.

You should probably be comfortable with running our cooker branch on a VM (though some of us daily drive it). There are some instances where you can get valuable info from other spec files, but we have some nuances that are different from how they do it.

Any tips / resources on how to start building rpm packages. Im ages on linux yet never build any package for any system. But I compiled lots of stuff back in the days.
I wanna learn to possibly help in a future with the project. And I have to start somewhere.
Beeing a guy who just run linux and is quite advanced not enough for me anymore.
Im no linux wizard but I know how to manually compile stuff kernel included.
Let me put this that way.
I can help with money which I kinda lack of at the moment or time. And I have to much of a free time. I can waste it for mindless amazon / netflix entertainment or try to learn a new useful skill.

Initially, it would be best to choose a small package from the Association org here:

slock is probably a decent example. This will give you an initial impression of what the spec files will look like so you can see what that does. There are a lot of rpm packaging resources on the internet, and we have some additional nuances when it comes to the specs and how our system (abf) is used. The best thing to do would be to join the chat and we can answer questions about that in real time as people are available.
