Hi after around a month of using OpenMandriva I thought I’d better signup!
Yes I rediscovered OpenMandriva from Bryan Lunduke’s video but thanks to Linux Renaissance @darth I installed and started using it daily.
Mandrake was the distribution that started my Foss journey, technically Suse was the first venture into Linux but I never got it to run, I just wiped my Windows 98 installation instead.
Not all was lost though, well all my saved games were lost which caused a fair amount of distress at the time. Anyway I was given a set of Mandrake 8.1 discs to try and well after many years of Mandrake/Mandriva and many other distros here I am am .
Welcome! Can’t say my journey with Linux goes back that far, but my journey TO OM came through the same individual! Man that guy… Gotta get him to make some more videos for us
Wow at the parallels in our Linux Journey. Suse was my first successful install - if you consider a command line on a 100 MB hard drive a success. Mandrake 8.0 was my first daily driver and both were given to me by a relative who was ‘cage monkey’ at Comp USA, so were one version old when I started. Have remained in the family ever since and will expound a bit when I introduce myself.
