Looks like Freetube is having a hard time keeping up with Google’s anti-freedom shenanigans.

I sure hope FreeTube isn’t dead.

I’m not familiar with FreeTube, and I haven’t looked up the difference, but I use LibreTube via apk on a few devices. That has been and still does work well for those devices.

From what i understand they are waiting for a fix upstream in yt-dlp. What makes me a bit worried is that all pull requests have been closed without comment.

For now i have switched over to Grayjay, it works fine for all platforms.

Hmmm, Grayjay looks pretty interesting.

They just merged the fix last night. All is well with the world again.

Sadly they had to immediately release another version because Youtube blocked them again on the same day 0.23.10 was deployed.

Youtube is now blocking FreeTube via the poToken per video. I tested the new release for a bit and my IP now gets blocked after 3-4 videos. Luckily i am able to get a new dynamic IP within a minute or so but people with static IPs will not have a great time for now.
