Flash-player-plugin 30.0.0.134 and flash-player-plugin-kde 30.0.0.134 can't be installed

No, I’m kidding, no problem.

Seems like these packages work just fine.

$ rpm -qa | grep flash-player
flash-player-plugin-30.0.0.154-1-omv2015.0.x86_64
flash-player-plugin-kde-30.0.0.154-1-omv2015.0.x86_64

Post-edit: Test it after you install it here. You should see a brief animation when you first open the page in addition to the box telling what version you have installed.

Note: Now that you have the smart thing to do is don’t use it unless you absolutely have to due to security issues.

Thanks @AngryPenguin :penguin:.

ah okay  Thx

Hello Ben,

By the testing repository you mean:
http://abf-downloads.openmandriva.org/3.0/repository/x86_64/non-free/testing/
right?

I installed:
http://abf-downloads.openmandriva.org/3.0/repository/x86_64/non-free/testing/flash-player-plugin-30.0.0.154-1-omv2015.0.x86_64.rpm
and clicked the

Test it after you install it here

field but it doesn’t work. Instead of the version box I get a black box with a white map icon.

Albert

Yes because Flash plugin is by default inactive in recent Firefox version.

To confirm that Flash plugin is detectable by Firefox go to the page in it: “about:plugins”
Then at bottom you should see sometings like this:

If Firefox detect Flash corretly then you can activate it by default in firefox options (but this is for safety reasons not recommended) or just when open web page with Flash content, click on to a small square on the left side of the address bar and next click on allow to use flash. Then flash content should be enabled on this page.

Anyway, today I updated also pappi flash - chromium-pepper-flash-30.0.0.154 for Chromium and other chromium based browser (opera, vivaldi, brave, [falkon?] and etc…)

https://www.essential-freebies.de/board/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5283&start=100
and if you find a more new version, write a issue and post it in the Bugzilla ,
i do it not anymore …

Thanks AngryPengguin, now it works and the packages can be moved to there final position.

By the way, I didn’t know that flash-player was so dangerous to use that you have to activate it in 2 places in firefox. Do you have an idea what flash-player makes so dangerous to use?

Albert

Do an internet search for ‘Adobe Flash Player security issues’ and you’ll get the gist.
