Hello everyone,
There are some things not looking as they should in Wayland znver1 release, and they’re mostly regarding Welcome screen
- the font is not being rendered correctly, at least not in 3440 x 1440
- when installing some apps from Welcome, root passwd is required twice
- would have been nice to cache the password temporarily, so that users wouldn’t have to enter it for everything
- Gimp doesn’t have its name listed
- some apps have the same icon, the one used all over Welcome
- the only distro in the recent years that didn’t detect my wireless printers. Luckily Brother actually provides the Linux drivers, so that users don’t have to set everything up manually
- mouse inconsistency when hovering over dnfdragora. Pointer size almost doubles, when scaling is involved
- by default single click opens, does not only select
- kdedevelop actually doesn’t install, it complains about a dependency
Buttom line, I actually really enjoy this release! It’s blazingly fast, not a heavy resource user (not light either), and really beautiful. Feels like a labour of love.
Also, it’s the first time in a long time since I haven’t encounter any showstoppers for me.
Great work!
Got it set up as my daily driver. I just hope I won’t regret using Wayland instead of X11
Ideas on setting up KDevelop will be greatly appreciated
