Cross compiling for Windows

Hello,

Requirements:

I have Searched the forum for my issue and found nothing related or helpful
I have checked the Resources category (Resources Index)
I have reviewed the Wiki for relevant information
I have read the the Release Notes and Errata

OpenMandriva Lx version:

OpenMandriva Lx release 25.12 (ROME) Rolling for x86_64

Desktop environment (KDE, LXQT…):
KDE

Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant):
Should I use GCC or Clang for cross compiling for Windows? (I can get either working but what is generally recommended?)

Relevant informations (hardware involved, software version, logs or output…):

I see now that Clang is default for building for Linux but GCC is currently the default for building for Windows

Moving to Development , not relevant for Support.

Your question is far too general to begin to assist you. What are you compiling? Is this the same question as the SDL one you asked AI?

I am compiling an audio plugin. I was just confused about whether Clang should be used for cross compiling for Windows too because I couldn’t find anything definite on the forum. But having done more research it seems like the advantages of Clang are lesser when cross-compiling so I’ll stick with GCC for cross compiling for now unless there is a good reason not to.
Thanks for your help
