[cooker] What is the issue with Discover

Hi,

looks like there is some strange trend to remove discover from iso and task-plasma.

I wonder on what basis this happened ? Found no bugreports filled on issues.openmandriva.org that points to discover crashing, failing, destroying world.

On my two installations found no issues with discover. Yet i feel that not shipping default Plasma extensions/apps shop is like shipping Android without Google Play.

Can we please have some bugreport, so again decisions can be based on facts not the rumours ?

Just to mention, i’ve long time ago split discover support to packagekit, so it is not pulled on iso, and it does not interfere with dnfdragora.

No is not, just start respecting decisions made by the team against it.

That matters ZERO.

Again, stop that 'works for me', on the distribution level is has to
work for _all_ or for almost all.

Can we please have some bugreport, so again decisions can be based on facts not the rumours ?

Are you serious?

Just to mention, i've long time ago split discover support to packagekit, so it is not pulled on iso, and it does not interfere with dnfdragora.

As long we use dragora that packagekit support from discover should
not even exist.
It is (half)broken by itself and it races with dragora.

But ignoring the packagekit issue, and ignoring other discover problems,
it pulls in dconf, gCRAP, flatpak, fwupd and what not...

That is a problem too since we decided against flatpak being there by
default as well fwupd since it may quick eat your hardware.

(As a note, without the packagekit or any backend being installed
discover still
defaults to that. So first a user sees is a page telling him is not working.)

That is your effort to push what you want in, no matter what, as long
it *WORKS FOR 'YOU'*.

You, even *LIED* about the *reason* discover need be there, really ridiculous!!.

Either way, you *still* have a vote, be around, vote and accept decisions.

If you can't, then we have a problem.

Can’t have discussion like that, as you constantly attacks me all the time and insults over commit messages.

Change you attitude or go for some training how to interact with people like Linus did couple a months ago.

Can't handle the truth ? .. Ofc you can't.

No, I won't do that since I don't need any training and I will keep
attacking you as long you acting like a moron.

Facts matter dude.

I’ll focus on contributing like I always do, and you on your bigmouthing.

I'll focus on contributing like I always do, and you on your bigmouthing.

That is not even a valid English word. ^^^

Yeah, you contribute shit and 'we' the rest have to sort it out.

Because you are simply an ignorant a**hole.

I’ll suggest to you to follow our community rules.

Hope this might help you too

Second your last 30 days of statistics on ABF points to yours 6 builds. That does not sound like you are doing anything rather than talking.

< How about you stop top posting>

Again I don't need any help.

So that is your understanding of developing a Distribution?

You don't have any common sense.
Nor an understanding of how *basic* things working.

Also, you are unable to see the 'bigger picture'.

Do you measure the work of someone by 'clicking' a button on a web UI?. Really?

BUG -> debug -> discuss the best solution -> someone commits.

'Any bigger change' -> discuss -> decide.

And unlike you, is how I do my work in cooperation with bero and the QA's.

I'll suggest you step back and educate yourself on some topics and stop
wasting everyone's time.

EOT

Nope. That topic won't go away any time soon.

This distribution is community driven, and it have some rules and policies, which you are constantly abusing.

This means that you breaks rules of:

  • insults

  • defamation

https://wiki.openmandriva.org/en/Mod#Rights_and_duties_of_authors

Everybody here commits theirs free time to work on this community and its products as best as they can.

Have some little respect and stop acting like some judge, as I doubt that community gave you the right to describe people and theirs abilities, nor to tell others to do in theirs life. Like I’m not going to start my own “Moronic Linux Distribution” as you insists on me.
