Comodo antivirus Linux DISCONTINUED, please post suggestions for malware protection software instead

Comodo Antivirus Linux was discontinued and is no longer supported by Comodo, feel free to offer suggestions for malware protection software.

original post spoilered:

Hello, I am interested in installing comodo antivirus on openmandriva as it’s the only security software left aside from enterprise crap and ClamAV, and ClamAV has no real-time security features.

Does anyone have advice for making it run properly?

Distro version: OpenMandrivaLx.rolling-snapshot.20241225.3525-plasma6.znver1.iso

Desktop: Default KDE

You could try to install the rpm for Fedora 64 bit. Chances are you will get a list of packages it couldn’t find. If you list them here with markdown we can help you find the dependencies. Depending on how things are named in Fedora, it may require you to install with rpm -ivh <package_name> --nodeps.

I got this error when I tried to open the software after installing it: Sqlite Driver is not installed!

Also I contacted support and they flat out told me that they are no longer maintaining the download link on their own site and that support was discontinued.

Can you try:

sudo dnf in lib64sqlite3_0

Considering what customer support said about their own software I should not try running Comodo Linux anymore, though I ran the command anyway and it said that was already installed.

Sounds like a good idea. Please mark your findings as Solution.

I would also just start a new thread in Coffee Break. This is for helping people fix issues.

You are generally safe with Linux, it isn’t Windoze. Unless you want to protect Windoze users by catching Windoze malware circulating in a mailserver or something.

I don’t use virus software on windows. Haven’t had a virus in 30 years. Knowing how to use a computer and where virus come from is far more important than what OS you are using.
