I have reviewed the Wiki for relevant information
x I have read the the Release Notes and Errata

As in title
Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant):

Dunno, I just drank a whole bottle of a delicious red and can’t read the screeen!!!
Relevant informations (hardware involved, software version, logs or output…):

When I first installed ROME KDE, I had the fantastic “shake mouse cursor to make it bigger for old farts to see”, but for some reason iot got disabled and now I can’t find it in System settings.

Amnyone know where it went?

Many thanks.

Regards, Kev :slight_smile:

Mind to write which iso (wayland?) once you get sober? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m using Wayland right now, and mine is right in the Accessibility settings…

Sincere apologies for the rather “untoward” post, sadly I can’t find the button to edit it so my embarrassment has to stay for all to see.

I’m using the KDE X11 version of OpenMandriva, and this feature was present at install time. I believe I changed some theme settings, and since then I honestly can’t find the option to re-enable the “shake cursor” feature.

Here’s a screenshot of my Settings menu →

…and oddly enough, the “Shake Cursor” option is missing!

Very strange.

EDIT: My theme is all Breeze except that I installed an icon set called “WhiteSur”. I tried restoring the original theme settings but nothing changed (apart from the theme obviously).

The only other software I’ve installed since initial installation is a few FlatPak applications and a custom Plasma clock.

Regards, Kev.

The ‘shake cursor’ is a wayland feature only afaik.

Funnily enough, it was there at first boot, I specifically downloaded and installed the X11 version - very strange :thinking:

I just re-checked that I did install the correct version and it looks right (I installed days before I drank that bottle of wine, honest :rofl:), here’s a screenshot →

Regards.

@KevB-42 try this:

sudo dnf in task-plasma6-wayland

Logout and in lower left hand corner of the SDDM login screen select "Plasma (Wayland) session and see if that works. If it does then shake the mouse. Note that Wayland may not work on some older hardware. YMMV.

I believe the shake the mouse thing is Wayland only as stated by @rugyada above.

OK, my bad - I got mixed up!

I’ve been converting all my machines over to OM over the last few days and it seems it was working on another distro, not OM, which as a few of you advised is sadly not a feature in X11.

So please mark this thread as solved, sorry to cause any inconvenience or stress.

Kind regards,
Kev.

The other distro, whateve it is, must have been wayland.

No inconvenience, nor stress: it was pretty clear since the beginning;
