Can't configure my wireless

Hello,

  • OpenMandriva Lx version: 3.02

  • Desktop environment (KDE, LXQT…): Plasma

  • Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant): Can’t put on work my wireless.

  • Relevant informations (hardware involved, software version, logs or output…): hardware wireless BCM43142A0

After a fresh install my wireless card doesn’t work. I go to Drakconnect -> wireless and select the card, it try to install dkms-broadcom-wl but fail with the next output.

I have the current kernel 4.13.8-desktop-1omv and sources at /usr/src/linux-4.13.8-desktop-1omv.
Output of the make log at /var/lib/dkms/broadcom-wl/6.30.223.271-2/build/make.log show a compile error “wl_linux.c:2918:10: error: ‘struct net_device’ has no member named ‘last_rx’”.

Any help?

Looks like this package needs two patches to support kernel post 4.12.x version.
Just stay tuned up, as i’ll release -3 version soon, and hopefully this will solve your issue.

Thanks, I’ll keep in touch. By the way where I can report some fix for the dropbox script?, it is simple one but works

OK. dropbox script “/usr/bin/dropbox” still use python 2 but default is 3, to fix it I had to edit the script to work editing the 1rst line and change #!/usr/bin/python to #!/usr/bin/python2.

Greetings. I updated today all the repositories and then dkms-broadcom-wl-6.30.223.271-2 to -3 package and installation worked. But since my wireless card is BCM43142A0 there is a conflict with “bcma” module when is loaded before wl, so I blacklisted bcma and the problem has been resolved,
