My notebook is connected via HDMI with an external screen. When I start a program from the built-in screen I expect it to open on the built-in screen, similarly when I start from the external screen I expect it to open on the external screen. This is not the case. Program startup and opening follow unknown patterns, sometimes on the built-in screen sometimes on the external screen in a seemingly random manner. What’s more, sometimes a child window of the main program window opens on the other screen. Same behavior in Gnome or Plasma.
Is there a setting to make the behavior consistent?

Il mio notebook è collegato via HDMI con uno schermo esterno.
Quando avvio un programma dallo schermo integrato mi aspetto che si apra sullo schermo integrato, analogamente quando avvio dallo schermo esterno mi aspetto si apra sullo schermo esterno.
Non avviene così; avvio e apertura del programma seguono schemi ignoti, a volte su schermo integrato a volte su quello esterno in maniera apparentemente casuale.
Di più, a volte una finestra figlia di quella del programma principale si apre sull’altro schermo.
Uguale comportamento in Gnome o Plasma.
Esiste un’impostazione per rendere coerente il comportamento?
