A call for your short testimonials to post on X

Im looking to collect a bunch of short testimonials from all of us OMLx users to post on X.
These posts will look something like:

“We love hearing from our users! Here’s what @[username] says about OpenMandriva: ‘Switched from [another distro] to OpenMandriva, and I’ve never looked back. It’s just so smooth.’ Share your story with #MyOpenMandriva!”

So give me your favorite reason to use OMLx and your X handle if you have one.
Keep in mind that X posts are charactor limited to 280 and includes any links and hashtags.

I came here from openSUSE Tumbleweed, but now I am considered “rotten flesh” and must be cut out.

At least we don’t have that issue at OpenMandriva. I don’t have to wave a flag or tic a box to use Linux.

In the wake of FOSS community being more and more politicized I’ve been successfully cutting over more of my workloads to OMLx. I’ve enjoyed exploring the new (to me) OS as well as being surrounded by like-minded users who I know aren’t judgmental. The focus is on the software as it should be!

I had been looking for a distribution that focuses on good code, rather than harmful politics. OpenMandriva is that operational system. I like it here.

OpenMandriva Lx isn’t perfect but I stick with it for the community. They’re a perfect example of willingness to learn, contribute great software, and help users no matter their background. That’s worth staying for, especially in today’s tech climate.

I’ve not had a great install experience with it honestly.

I tried following the direction for NVIDIA cards, tried the open drivers and both machines it still doesn’t want to play nice. :frowning:

I have it running perfectly fine however on my Intel based Laptop with no discrete video card. Hindsight being twenty/twenty, I should have bought a discrete AMD or discrete Intel card.

I’ve been a Linux user for about 12 years now, been through all of the “big” distros, been through most of the mid-sized ones, and in the recent times I’ve become more and more perplexed by the ammount of virtue-signaling, political one-sideness and sometimes even out-right ranting from some of them, until I learned that OpenMandriva is still around and doing well. I tried it, gave it a spin and liked it, although dnf was not my favourite, and I must say I’m still on it, doing well and not missing anything from my previous arch installations. Especially nice for new users is the OM Welcome thinggy, gives you all the right support points to lift off and fly.
Overall a very good experience and a reliable distro, that keeps their nose out of your extra-linux interests.
Thanks again OM Team!
