Any news when an update will become available?
Welcome to OpenMandriva forum and community.
There is a way to make a formal request of our developers. Go to our OpenMandriva Issue Tracker set up an account if you don’t have one and file a bug report selecting Lx 3.0 and then under importance select “trivial/enhancement”. Simply title it something like “Request for latest Chromium package” or similar.
FWIW: Chromium 59 is available in restricted updates repository. You’re likely to see 60 there first as well.
If you need Chromium, you can check official builds from Chromium Team. Here is how to download: Download Chromium - The Chromium Projects
So you can download from easy way or manual way:
Easy way, go to and download raw buid: https://download-chromium.appspot.com/ after that go to last step.
Or from not easy way, go to: https://commondatastorage.googleapis.com/chromium-browser-snapshots/index.html?prefix=Linux_x64/
and go inside latest build (latest build today is 496304). Just get inside and download file chrome-linux.zip
Last step, unpack it. (This step is only needed if you want run chromium with sandbox) Run terminal inside chrome-linux folder and as root:
mv chrome_sandbox chrome-sandbox && chown root chrome-sandbox && chmod 4755 chrome-sandbox
Now just launch it from this folder or from system app menu or create desktop icon.
Usually one of our developers will build most recent chromium package eventually. Our developers are all part time folks with busy day jobs and lives. It tends to happen faster if someone makes a package upgrade request in OpenMandriva Issue Tracker.
No to Chromium 60 but yes to Chromium 61. Thanks to @Colin. See bug report.
Chromium 61 is available for testing in Main-testing repo (see bug report). Please test and report results here.
