Ugly fonts in programs (QT) like VLC and VirtualBox

Hello,
After installation, I noticed ugly fonts in programs like VLC and VirtualBox.

Requirements:

I have Searched the forum for my issue and found nothing related or helpful
I have checked the Resources category (Resources Index)
I have reviewed the Wiki for relevant information
I have read the Release Notes and Errata

OpenMandriva Lx version:

OpenMandriva Lx 26.02 (ROME) Rolling x86_64

Desktop environment (KDE, LXQT…):

Gnome Shell

Changing the skin can change the font.

I have not tried to skin VLC. No idea if these are still valid. The skins and documentation give me the impression that they are from about twenty years ago. I find the fact that VLC just simply works to be of more importance than appearance.

Well, you’re running Gnome. Somewhere I remember seeing/playing with a tool that will let you configure QT on Gnome and Gnome on QT.

I can’t remember what/where it is. It might even be in our repo. I know I’ve got the opposite issue atm, and haven’t been annoyed enough to track down the fix.

I am digging around and found QT5CT and we do have it in the repos. Try it and see if it works for you.

I see there is a newer version available.

sudo dnf install qt6ct

To configure Gnome, in the repo:

sudo dnf install gnome-control-center

No idea if it works. I use Plasma 6. It throws an error: “Running gnome-control-center is only supported under GNOME and Unity, exiting”
