SDDM fails on the AMD version of OMV 4.2

Tags: #<Tag:0x00007fb463336020>

Hello,

After using dd to copy omv-zen 4.2 onto a usb stick, the SDDM service fails to start.

This is an HP 17-ak061ng laptop with AMD Quad-Core A10, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD.

Any clue how to get OMV installed?

Thank you in advance,
Muhammad

Hi.
It looks like your CPU is AMD APU A10-9620P from Bristol Ridge family and it use Excavator cores. Is this correct?

If so, you should download and install OpenMandriva for x86_64 architecture. Because the znver version is intended for AMD systems but from the Zen family (Ryzen, Epyc and Threadripper). Your processor belongs to the previous generation. So you should install the x86_64 version.

Hi;

You’re absolutely right. How did I oversee that?! :upside_down_face:
