You can use it now. @bero is trying to modify packagekit to make it safer for our users. It is far from perfect though. It won’t break your system, but it leaves itself hung and you have to reboot to get out of it. I still wouldn’t recommend it, but it is not dangerous to use to do a dsync.
There is still the risk of a newbie using to to modify their repos and really screwing things up, but we are looking deeper.
