Logitech G213 g810-led? How do I get this working?

Greetings humans, I have an issue I wasn’t able to find discussed in previous topics regarding RGB lighting support for the Logitech G213 Keyboard. I tried to locate the package for it from GitHub - MatMoul/g810-led: Linux led controller for Logitech G213, G410, G413, G512, G513, G610, G810, g815, G910 and GPRO Keyboards and I haven’t had any success getting it to work. Also the package seems missing from the repo list as well and Solaar only seems to work for wireless Logitech devices so that doesn’t work either. I prefer to have it set to solid red for low light. I wasn’t able to afford or find in stock any of the recommended keyboards suggested for Linux so I need to use what I have.

Also another Logitech device is showing up under USB devices called F310 Gamepad (Logitech Dual Action) and I don’t own one of those but it’s listed as plugged in. I’m confused on this issue as I do not own any game pads/controllers. WASD for life.

Additionally I would like to access settings for my HyperX Pulsefire Core mouse but that is not so important right now as it’s onboard memory is already set the way I like it.

EDIT: Just located an app called Open RGB and it has some sort of requirement for udev, a shell script installer was located from it’s error link and it did install but it only shows my RAM RGB without any keyboard listed. It suggested ROOT so I SU’ed into it and still doesn’t show it except for my RAM RGB. Unfortunately I was unable to install Open RGB normally and had to use Flatpack so it seems to be missing stuff that might make it work. The original package keeps crashing the install deamon for some reason. If I had hair, it would be ripped out.

Maybe it can help

Unfortunately, that hasn’t been maintained in years. We tend to package software that is regularly maintained. OpenRGB should work for your purposes:

Your keyboard:

“If you’re using OpenRGB packaged for your distribution, it is likely that the package includes the rules automatically, so you don’t need to do anything extra”

dnf list OpenRGB
Updating and loading repositories:
Repositories loaded.
Available packages
OpenRGB.x86_64 0.9-2 cooker-x86_64

I eventually found a way to get OpenRGB to work. Took a while but I had to manually add the missing stuff for it sense the only version I can get is from Flathub. Unfortunately even though I added it to startup, I still have to manually load RGB settings as it wont do it automatically when it opens. A minor inconvenience at most. Even trying to install it from cooker was not working. same issue with crashing the install daemon. What ever, it works now for the most part, but getting the keyboard functionality to work broke the ability to modify the RGB on my RAM, but that’s no issue sense I do not have a windowed case and I wouldn’t see it anyways. shrugs

You will probably want to get guidance here.

We often use newer versions of packages like udev, kernel, and OpenRGB. They might like to know there are issues or have already had the issue reported and can assist you with properly fixing it. Unfortunately, we don’t have a team of people with RGB hardware (including your exact hardware) sitting around testing it all day.
