Kmserver crashing on system reboot

Hello, I’m new here so my apologies if this thread is not created in the proper section. I’m currently trying to switch back to (Open)Mandriva after many years, but I’m facing an annoying issue (see description below).

  • OpenMandriva Lx version: 4.0

  • Desktop environment (KDE, LXQT…): KDE

  • Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant): Every time I try to restart the computer, the kmserver crashes with a segmentation fault that prevents the computer to reboot, taking me directly to the login screen. 100% reproducible on my computer. If I click on reboot on that screen, it works fine.
However, it never happened when using the OS on virtual box.

  • Relevant informations (hardware involved, software version, logs or output…):
    Hardware:
    CPU: Intel Core i7 8700
    RAM : 16gb at 2666 mhz
    Motherboard: Gigabyte b360m

Welcome @andres_ilm to OpenMandriva Forum and OM the distro. Hope you enjoy your time with both.

Welcome,
maybe you have one (or more) graphic card(s) in addition to the chipset?
If so, could you disable it (them) in the bios setup?
If that works, it might be possible to add an appropriate parameter to the kernel command line.

Hi. The problem seems to be gone after I reinstalled the system. No idea about what happened, since the former was also a clean installation.
Anyways, thank you for your support.
Regards
