What wifi issue, did I miss a wifi issue in a thread titled “KDE Plasma” on Rolling, crashes constantly"? I’m not seeing that here yet.
That was in response to raddevus saying this “I also had updated my old i3 laptop to Rome and after that the WiFi continually failed
Even tho same laptop ran rock for 9 months no problems”
Thanks. Did not see that and that. It is possible that that could have been fixed simply by removing the old connection in NetworkManager and adding a new connection. But would need logs to be sure. NetworkManager is notoriously finicky. Another possibility would be the kernel upgrade. That can be checked by booting in to the older kernel where wifi was working.
I thought that he might have already had advice on the software side of things but end users often don’t consider the hardware interaction side. I have been in and out of the industry for extensive periods and spent some time working on those aspects. I followed the latest firefox discussion with interest. I have the latest version running in Rock. Whilst all of the dependencies were available in it’s repos the amount of issues that I have had to sort out with it’s interaction with this version of plasma and any earlier gtk version applications that chanced to overlap it almost had me rsync my pre-attempt root and home snapshots back and surrender. Dev teams really have my respect for not only having to get the updated version built but having to ensure 100% integration with 0 side effects. And all while fielding questions…
