Welcome

I don’t speak German, so I tried Google Translate. I am not sure how well it did, but it looks like the keys are not right. I don’t know if you are installing from our repo or theirs. Please post the following.

dnf repolist

Thanks,
because the firefox from Mandriva is too old (137.0.2) I try using the Mozilla Howto to import GPG-Key

(
/blog.mozilla.org/security/2026/08/10/updated-gpg-key-for-signing-firefox-and-thunderbird-releases/)

[tux@OMA-LXQT ~]$ dnf repolist
Paketquellenkennung Paketquellenname
mozilla Mozilla Packages
rock-updates-x86_64 OpenMandriva Rock - x86_64 - Updates
rock-updates-x86_64-extra OpenMandriva Rock - Extra - x86_64 - Updates
rock-x86_64 OpenMandriva Rock - x86_64
rock-x86_64-extra OpenMandriva Rock - Extra - x86_64
[tux@OMA-LXQT ~]$

If it were mine, I would delete the mozilla repo in /etc/yum.repos.d/ and go through the install with their instructions again. That would get rid of the bad key.

Thank you very much,

but this is not the solution, sorry. I tried this ~ 5 times:

You will need to uninstall firefox-137 from the Rock repo before installing firefox from mozilla repo. The mozilla repo is NOT meant for OpenMandriva so there might be issues with it that we won’t be able to help with. Another option is to use the flatpak.

Yes, @LeeTalbert is correct. You can’t have both versions at once.

Thanks,
I removed firefox-137 and tried to install firefox from Mozilla repo — the same old blues again: GPG error.
flatpak is no option - not enough RAM on old machine, sorry. The Falkon browser from original Mandriva-ISO is not compatible with every website
hope that firefox-137 makes no trouble

Try from here https://soarpkgs.qaidvoid.dev/ this is appimage version

You might call around to some of your local computer repair stores. Many save old RAM and will sell it cheaply. You could max out your old system on total RAM affordably this way.

If it has as much RAM as can be installed to it, you might need to use a different web browser like Falkon or Midori.

If that is not an option, it might be time to tie Old Yeller up to a tree and shoot him.

Try to remove the mozilla repo and install what you want directly from the Firefox web site. Apologies if you have already done that but this thread got difficult to follow.

Bit late but just my experience, I went the uninstall 137 and install latest (153 at the time) from Mozilla route. It took another day and a half to get it to integrate with the plasma environment. First issue was screenshot software, then it especially hated any other GTK app that overlapped it, etc. I ended up with about an A4 sheets worth of notes of what I tried and had to do. Then Mozilla pulled the API only addons and blanket hardware acceleration changes. I often use the rpmbuild tools supplied to package either software om don’t offer or later versions than Rock has for gaining features / losing bugs etc. It takes a few days to learn but is worth the effort. At the moment I am running Waterfox, pclinuxos has an RPM which isn’t too much work to repackage as an omv6000, just the usual nomenclature changes on the requires, (a lot are just add 64 after lib) all of which are met with what is in the repos.

Thank You Very Much,

I know PCLinuxOS and used it since 2020 on my big PC and friends PC. But since end of 2025 to 2026 there is more and more trouble, That’s why I looked for a substitute.
OMV looks ok, but the friends are no IT-junkies and it’s too much work for me to support all this Systems with help of rpmbuild. And it was a big work to change them from Windows →Linux/Firefox, some of them are 60
78 years old, I’m 73.

Well I’m in the same boat as your friends age wise. But have worked in the industry for extended periods of time. When I started my apprenticeship as a mainframe engineer there was no such thing as a desktop PC. The same one as you with distros, I used pclinuxos for thirteen years until the recent issues with their data centre fire and switch from their excellent synaptic implementation. I hadn’t done an RPM build until May. The issue I had is that the repos version of Firefox here is so old that it couldn’t recognise the keys etc. from my imported profile even using --allow-downgrade as a start flag. Unfortunately openmandriva don’t seem to have a facility for submitting RPM builds for Rock at the build farm. I could put my spec sheet, source tarball and integration notes for the later GTK on github to make it easy for you with necessary settings and building a Waterfox RPM. Failing that, I know it’s not a gecko browser but there is Brave in the repositories and someone is keeping it up to date quite regularly. Edit, there is also floorp flatpak available through flatdrake / discover.

Thank you for your help,
the “cheapest way” for me and the friends is to use Brave. But have to test it first
 Oh, its a flatpak

Most of them have notebooks > 10 years , buyed with Win7 or Win8. That’s why is flatpak and so on no option. All this work only for ~ 10 years or a little bit more or lesser.
Or what do you think about vivaldi, because of integrated email client ?

Brave is available in the repositories, but you first need to go into the Welcome app and enable the Brave repository.

To get Brave-Origin to work, first install Brave. Then install Brave-Origin. Finally, remove Brave. Brave-Origin will now work.

I use Vivaldi every day. Stable. The email client is rock solid, at least for me, save for one small feature/bug:

The messages in the trash folder tend to accumulate, requiring the user to go in every several days to delete them. Even if the host email server is set to automatically delete the trash ‘X’ days old, they still accumulate. This is because Vivaldi lacks a script that performs this task. It fails to check with the email server to update so the Vivaldi client reflects what the server has deleted from the trash folder.

End of the world? No. Just remember to clean house in the trash folder about once a week or so.

Brave is available as an RPM in dnfdrake but you need to go to om-Repo-Picker and add it first, as you do for Vivaldi. Floorp which is Firefox based is a flatpak, I use it as a secondary browser with the nord vpn addon for streaming. With a couple of flatpak overrides so that it can use local storage and my old profile.
