This is because everytime we do the UM where we copy cooker repos to rolling the testing repos get erased and there are no repodata files until some package gets built for each of these repos. For now testers can check that here. The error is literally that dnf can not find any repodata files to read because they are not present.

And ofc the repodata will get written with the first package built for each testing repo. We have dummy packages for this but it is currently done manually and we do not always remember. This would be a good task for someone with an ABF account to take up is anyone is willing.
What is an ABF account?
An account to the build system: https://abf.openmandriva.org/
You need to register if you want to package something and then say in the matrix room that you registered, so a dev can approve you.
If you are not building packages, you don’t need one.

I’m a veteran linux user but not much of a dev, so I thought I’d learn new skills by trying to learn packaging. Although I’m super not familiar with openmandriva’s packaging yet I think over the last two weeks I gained a pretty good understanding of it, enough to make package upgrades and relatively simple new packages on my own. What I can definitely do is test software and hardware drivers, notice and report bugs (I have done so for years both in arch with unstable repositories and gentoo with beta packages unmasked). My objective is to go all the way from noticing to fixing the bugs (if relevant to our package, or else report upstream obviously). I often have periods where I’m overwhelmed with work so I may not be always available but with what’s going on in the linux ecosystem I’m sticking with openmandriva for the long run. Plus its much more fun than arch, lots of problems to fix

(Also if anyone with abf admin access sees this, I locked my abf account a few days ago because I changed my email recently, and it triggered the abf email verification process again… The username is the_emulator, same as here. I already posted in the matrix but nobody saw it so I’m trying it here too.)

Testers are welcome! If you want to try your hand at packaging, the folks in the Cooker Chat will be happy to see you too. If you look in the OM-Welcome app, there is a link to it and the standard chatroom on Matrix. In the browser, Element seems to suck less than anything else I have found and the Element flatpak seems to be about the best thing I have seen so far.

Any docs on packaging I can look at? Never have done packaging but after I start the new job and get settled I’d like to give it a try. Would like to eventually maintain a spin too, but just depends on time for that one
